    • Assunta Children Society (ACS) is a charitable organization managed by the Sisters of FMM (Franciscan Missionaries of Mary) with the help of volunteers. 
    • Our objective is to provide support and help to the less privileged families and their children. 
    • Funds are sourced from well wishers and supporters for the running of the ACS.
    The original program, known as Assunta Foster Care, was initiated by Sr. Theresa Gier, FMM in 1966. Her compassion towards the welfare of poor and orphaned children arose when a mother died while giving birth to her tenth child. Thus began her dedication to the task of seeing families willing to love, care and foster children who lost their parents or where abandoned by their families.

    Today the emphasis has shifted from fostering the children out to adults willing to care for them, to that of protecting and caring for children, while letting them stay with their families as far as possible.
