SMK Assunta's Form Four students had a taste of working life when the boardroom was brought into the classroom.

It started with SMK Assunta's Armarium Enterprise having to prepare an annual report which is transparent to and communicates with stakeholders.

The enterprise turned to the school's corporate adviser Nestlé Malaysia under the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce's (AMCHAM) Young Enterprise Programme.

After all, Nestlé Malaysia has won many accolades, both locally and internationally, including the ACCA MESRA (Malaysia Environmental & Social Reporting Awards) in 2004 and in 2006, and the Platinum Awards in New York in 2004.

Nestlé Malaysia held a workshop for 21 school students to learn techniques of annual report writing from its senior managers from the legal and secretarial, finance and control, and group corporate affairs departments.
By the end of the workshop, the participants had enhanced their creative and writing skills.

Recognised and supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development, the ANCHAM Young Enterprise Programme was introduced as a community service project in 1989 with the purpose of providing 16-year-old students with opportunities to become entrepreneurs by creating and managing their own companies to gain business acumen and learn teamwork.
